Living green is not hard to do.
I know that many people find it hard to live green, they think they have to buy that brand new car or all of these expensive appliances just to help the environment. The good news is you don't have to, even though it would help the environment more if you did. If your like me though, you can't afford to do all of that yet so here are some ways that you can live green without spending your years salary. Turn off lights, many of us leave lights on that are not needed, just because we have a habit of doing so. If you need a light, use a LED night light, they use almost no energy. Turn off your computer when it's not being used. I find this hard to do myself as I do most of my work on the computer, but studies have shown that a computer uses more energy in sleep mode then it does to turn it on and off. Take your own bags to the grocery store. My friend has her kids decorate Cotton bags that she uses to transport her groceries, people have stopped her to ask where she got them. She now is starting to sell them to others. Of course there are many more ways to save energy, but they cost a good amount to do. So start with these and do the bigger stuff when you can. |
